Infrastructure Threat Analysis
Multidisciplinary Teams
We apply classified information, intelligence analysis and technical expertise to develop an understanding of the threat environment relevant to our nation's critical infrastructure.
Multidisciplinary teams comprised of all-source and technical intelligence analysts and national security experts provide insight into adversary cyber capabilities and strategic intent, as well as into the energy sector, supply chain and critical infrastructure vulnerabilities. By providing context to these threats, we enable the prioritization of resources and targeting of effective mitigations to reduce the national security risk.
Program Highlights
Rapid Impact Vulnerability Analysis (RIVAL)
The Rapid Impact Vulnerability AnaLysis (RIVAL) response leverages critical infrastructure expertise, intelligence information, and modeling and simulation capabilities. These resources evaluate emerging cyber threats, portray potential scenarios, reveal potential impacts, and recommend mitigation strategies.
Asset and System Infrastructure Security Technique (ASIST)
The Asset and System Infrastructure Security Technique (ASIST) integrates threat and infrastructure data to assess and mitigate risk to defense critical infrastructure and national security functions. The tool identifies immediate actions for response and longer-term enhancements required for resilience and security.
Energy Threat Analysis Center (ETAC)
The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Energy Threat Analysis Center (ETAC) pilot led by the Office of Cybersecurity, Energy Security, and Emergency Response (CESER), is a public-private partnership that convenes experts from the federal government and the U.S. energy sector, joining analytic capabilities from the national laboratories with real-world threat insights to secure critical infrastructure and support the nation’s response to energy system threats.
