Enabling Electromagnetic Dominance
We are developing advanced technology solutions to meet national mission needs in electromagnetic warfare for future conflicts. These include novel devices, systems, algorithms and other capabilities to provide the warfighter with an edge across domains in an ever-evolving threat environment.
Our core competencies include semiconductor and other solid-state materials and devices, high-power radiofrequency (RF) and pulsed-power systems, electromagnetic susceptibility and protection and advanced concepts to maximize system effectiveness.
Our team also researches optical beam control, power electronics, distributed RF systems, battle damage assessment, AI-enabled RF systems, magnetic materials and components and more.
Program Highlights
Nanosecond Pulsed Power
We design, build and deliver devices and systems for solid-state nanosecond pulsed-power systems for emerging defense needs.
Effects Testing
We house a variety of RF test sources and environments to understand how electromagnetics interact with different systems.
Diamond Photoconductive Semiconductor Switch (DPCSS) Systems
Our team is building the world’s first high-power diamond RF and pulsed-power systems based on unique laser-triggered LLNL technology.
